Now Im 58 lets say I get married at 60 so then at 80 my wife will come to me that she as never loved me. No thanks – once burned 20,000 times shy. This is why a man desiring and dating a woman yrs his junior views it as no big deal. I’m pushing 60, I’m healthy, vibrant, and in shape. I get turned on by a stylish, attractive woman in her mid-40s. Sadly, and God forgive me for saying this, most women my age appear “frumpy” and look like a grandma.
This will be something that you have to learn to ignore, but some people are not able to do that. Judgment alone can oftentimes break up age gap couples out of pressure. There is nothing wrong with an older woman feeling attraction towards a man who is younger than her.
I am the one who paid to have his refrigerator turned on in his studio apartment because he couldn’t afford the cost of electricity to run the refrigerator. I married him after 3 years and he decided afterwards to go to college. https://hookupreviewer.com/xmeets-review/ Turned 50 in December, though never fat – had gained a few extra pounds and always been muscular. I had already quit drinking and lost 25 pounds prior to my birthday and wanted to kick off a year of recovery to myself.
If he could throw me out of his life like trash I should have known he would throw away the dogs he wanted that I raised for him. The dogs will be with me until they leave this world because I believe in owning up to my responsibilities, but after that I am done with dogs. I spend a good chunk of my life being respondible. However, I really want a relationship in which my partner is foremost my ‘girlfriend’ and she acts that way. But she wants to hold hands, smooch in the movie theatre and never turns some opportunity because ‘its late and I have to get up in the morning’. My youngest is still at university and has chosen to take a marathon runner’s approach to completing what will be 8 years of study to culminate in his PhD.
Such pairings are more common than most people believe, and more successful as well. In the real world of dating, there are few actual rules. Half by seven may only be a guideline, but it is a useful one. There is an unofficial rule that exists, even though nobody seems to know where it originated. The name of this guideline is “half plus seven,” Take the age of the person, divide it in half, and then add seven years. Eliminate the touchy-feely stuff about age being “just a number.” That is what people say to justify behavior that they know is problematic.
MASSIVE MISTAKES YOU’RE MAKING IN DATING
I am moving to Raleigh, NC in a few days. I haven’t had a girlfriend in 3 years. No, I shouldn’t settle but neither should the ladies. When most of the people here are married or have a girlfriend, the odds go down.
Responses to “Dating in your 50’s – Easy for Men… Not so much for Women!”
I have two homes, a great job at a cancer hospital making way more than I need or deserve. All my hair, over 6 ft and I look good I think – . I guess God has a plan for me – I’m thinking of going overseas because I hear men my age are pursued. I feel invisible in the states and being a white is no longer respected in the US. I know I am not entitled to anything, or deserve love….but it sure be nice to have a woman a woman in my arms again.
So I agreed I would just go with it and we had talked about possible future scenarios. Everything seemed fine until I became as serious as what he’d shown to me and indicated he wanted me to be. David…..I have been posting here the last few years off and on.
Things to Know Before Dating an Older Man
You are spot on and I hope you set the world on fire. The many older people like us and to be able to serve in the many area’s where we live. Really appreciate the positive feedback, and here’s hoping we can live up to your hopes for Stitch. It would be fun to have friends to go out to dinner with, movies, and etc.
I am not looking for a younger man either. I want someone close to my age but would consider a few years younger or older. I am 50 and I tried a well known dating site. We have our pick of men, so you say, but that’s not necessarily true.
